Research Topics

Our research is focused on the synthesis of functional, nanostructured materials based on redox-active molecular metal oxides, the design of novel composite materials and their use in (post-) lithium batteries, RFBs, supercapacitors and (photo-) electrocatalysis and thus strengthen future applications in the energy materials sector and develop solution concepts for global challenges such as energy conversion and storage.

Post-Li Batteries

Within this work package, we aim for  the fabrication of carbon additive/binder-free electrodes to maximize active material content and improve the overall energy density and cycling stability of the cells. Additionally, the synthesize of organic-inorganic hybrid materials for high-voltage electrodes, which could further boost energy capacity and performance across a range of post-Li technologies.
